MEET MELISSA
Melissa Busch is a nurse, a mother, and a champion for working families.
As a Home Health nurse in Warren, Melissa meets her patients and their families where they are, in their real, everyday lives. She visits patients and community members in their homes and long-term care settings throughout Senate District 16.
Melissa understands the challenges our communities face because she sees them every day in the lives of her patients. She knows the obstacles that stand in the way of good health and the quality of life everyone deserves.
She sees people forced to choose between paying their mortgage or buying groceries in order to access medical care or prescription medications. She sees families choosing between keeping their jobs and trying to provide care for their aging or disabled family members.
These are impossible and unnecessary situations that keep our communities sick and cause hard working people to fall behind.
Melissa knows that healthy communities need good jobs. As a union member, we can count on Melissa to protect jobs that pay fair, living wages, with good benefits and safe working conditions. And as a mother, Melissa understands the challenges faced by too many families in our community, from the lack of affordable childcare resources to underfunded schools.
As our State Senator, Melissa will lead with the same care and compassion she brings to her patients day-in and day-out. We can trust Melissa to stand up and fight for the communities of Senate District 16, from Warren, to Astoria, to Tillamook.
